CourseArc partners with Baltimore County Public Schools to avail best-in-class digital content solutions
Baltimore-Columbia-Towson metro continues apace with home-grown, innovative edtech solutions + partnerships
It’s just awesome when an education innovation ecosystem does what it’s supposed to do. In the evolving story of Baltimore’s robust edtech community, we have yet another example as to why, in Baltimore, there’s plenty of steak to support the sizzle.
Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) had been looking for a way to allow curriculum developers and teachers to more easily build interactive digital content for its diverse student population. BCPS requires WCAG 2.0 AA compliance, which means that all content and assessments developed are accessible to all learners, including those with disabilities; that data security and privacy requirements are met; that IMS Global’s LTI standards are implemented in order to integrate with other vendor products in BCPS One; and that the tool functions regardless of device, browser, or operating system. BCPS chose Baltimore-based CourseArc to check off all of the above — and more.
As K-12, postsecondary, and workforce education flexibility are increasingly required, there must be a platform solution that allow for easy design, integration, and scale of content and courseware. This is CourseArc.
As imparted here in a parallel post, CourseArc is an example of the quality edtech innovation born, honed, grown, and scaled up from Baltimore, Maryland, and the DMV. Kudos to BCPS for recognizing that increasingly innovation and partnership are found right at the doorstep of one of the country’s more innovative K-12 districts.
